The theme of Knutpunkt 2006 in Sweden is bridge-building. We want to reach the next generation of game organisers and theorists that have not previously attended Knutpunkt, and may not even know of its existence. We believe that they have a lot to bring to the mix, and that we have a lot to give in return. We want to bridge the gap between theorists and practitioners, role-playing theorists and established academia and the gap between the role-playing scene and the rest of society. You can help us by designing your programme session in this spirit. And by pushing that friend of yours you've been trying to convince to come for years, to finally attend.
Please note: this information is historical. Refer to our forum for post-event talk. See you in Denmark in 2007.

We are still looking for someone to step forward and take the responsibility. Something informal will surely happen, but we are looking for someone to turn this in to a proper event. We are busy enough organising Knutpunkt.
...a Nordic role-playing convention, with a strong emphasis on live-action role-playing. It encourages discussion, debates, parties, cross-pollution, seminars, workshops and actual gaming. It is aimed at organisers and theorists rather than regular participants.

PeopleJoin the throng of others who have discovered Knutpunkt — the easier way to meet the Nordic role-playing scene. Visitors come from all over Europe, and beyond. |
ConnectEach year a new Nordic country hosts the convention, which makes for a great rotation of people. Everyone is as new as the next guy, and this makes for an open space, in which we all add perspective. At this convention, you get to meet everyone. The point of the convention is that you connect with as many great people as possible. |
ProjectsOut of the connections come ideas that turn into projects, which sooner or later hit reality. Hook up with the folks who create those things. Or show your own! We are looking for more programme items. |
Knutpunkt was first organized in Oslo, Norway, in 1997 under the name Knutepunkt. Since then the convention has been held in all the Nordic capitals. Stockholm hosted the event for the first time in the year 2001.
Knutpunkt is organised by Föreningen Knutpunkt, a SVEROK connected society. Knutpunkt is officially sponsored by SVEROK Sweden.
Right now, the bulk of the work is carried out by: Anna Westerling (economy, locale), Thorbiörn Fritzon (programme, book), Patrik Bolint (food), Olle Jonsson (web, international contacts), Jonas Barkå (buses and travel), Tobias Wrigstad (book, registration site), Anna Ericsson (parties), Alex Kjäll (food) Malin Neurman (food) Bengt Liljeros (bar). Any one who wants to help is more than welcome.
Reach us by our email (reaches all the organisers).
Is “Vi Åker Jeep” organising Knutpunkt? No, but they let us use their domain for free.
